BAA Board Report: Unjuried Group Shows, Holiday Fun

Notes From Your Board President:

Beginning this month, I'll be writing a bit about what's going on in BAA. This month, let's discuss the gallery group shows and some end of the year BAA cheer!

For the March 2018 group show (the first one of the new year), members will be guaranteed acceptance into the show for one or two pieces. This change was agreed to by your board in the last meeting.

While details still need to be worked out, since there is a finite amount of space in the gallery, this will allow members to determine the look of the show. Most likely each member will be allowed a certain number of square inches of 2-D work. 3-D entries will also have a size limitation, to be determined as soon as possible.

In addition to the March show being a guaranteed entry, one other regular group show in 2018 will also be designed that way. It's hoped that these new rules will encourage our members to participate more. Email me to let me know what you think.

Now on to the holiday season! Kitty McGinnis is working on a "fun" member get-together for the end of the year. I can't say yet what she has planned, but I'd get my party hat out of the closet and dust off that holiday sweater tucked away since last year! More details in October.

That's all for September. See you next month
